Ricardo Bacelar brings his Brazilian keyboard concepts along with a fresh and energetic core team of Cesar Lemos/g, Anderson Quintero/dr and a large guest list of voices, percussions, strings and horns on this upbeat collection of material.
A mix of Brasilia with Andrea Mangiamarchi’s voice creates a rich and passional “Somewhere in the Hills” while indie vocals by Maye Osorio teamed with Steve Hinson’s pedal steel guitar create a mellow “Nothing Will Be As It Was.” Street sounds and Lemos’ vocals team with striding piano for a folksy celebration of “Sernambetiba” with some muted trumpet by Jose Sibaja getting bluesy for “Vento de Maio.” Bacelar and company get funky for “Suco Verde” and upbeat for “A Volta Da Asa Branca” while the whole album overflows with joy and passion. You can feel the enthusiasm emitted on each tune, with light and heat both well palpable.
