Singer/songwriter Patrick Coman delivers a rootsy album of mostly originals with Peter Parcek/g, Marco Giovino/dr, Neal Pawley/b-st-g-mand-etc and Joe Klompus/b. He’s got a barroom brawling voice as the band boogies with a B3 on “Don’t Reach” while a NO is rockabilly swings on “9-5ers.” The team lurks through some tribal Bo Diddly riffs on “Trouble #2” and plods along while Coman tells a stories as on “Heartbeat.” Leon Russell’s “Magic Mirror” gets a bohemian coat of paint, fitting into the mood and revealing the leader’s heart, and the team gets vaudevillian for “Dirty Old Bedbug Blues.” American on the two lane roads.
