Chet Doxas: Rich in Symbols

Leading a quartet of Matthew Stevens/g, Zack Lober/b, Liam O’Neil/synth and Eric Doob/dr along with a handful of guests, Chet Doxas brings woodwinds and synths for seven dreamy and moody originals. He creates sonic landscapes with some clever electric bass work supplied by Lober on the dreamy “While You Were Sleeping” and a rocking “Haven’t Seen Color.” The team here and elsewhere give hints of vintage Yes, with some Chris Squire toned bass on the rivuleted “Hot Lines” and the prog rocker “Image and Nation” with some nice guitar work by Dave Nugent on “Hot Lines.” Easy on the ears.
