Multi-instrumentalist Django Bates sticks to the piano on this trio album with Petter Eldh/b and Peter Bruun. The pieces give much usage to space and flowing moods, with pieces such as “Little Petherick” and “This World” filled with gentle delicacies. The rhythm team does some clippety clops with bop on “Passport” and stir things up on a fun and funky “Girgiantics” whereas the leader gives a dash of Bill Evans on his use of rich chords and glittering crystals on the fluid “Senza Bitterness.” Gentle lights glow on this one.
