A mix of voices and big band sounds make for artsy jazz on this album. A mix of song and poetry teams up with Hannah Fidler on the sweet “Passing Away”, the flowing “Iqra” along with Kyle Schardt’s guitar and the pizzicato’d bass of “All I Need.” A three voiced choir of sorts creates rich textures on “An Afterlife for the Unnamed” whereas pastoral clarinet forms water impressions on “An Afterlife For Jeremy Miller” along with Matt Riggen’s street poetry. A mix of bohemia and Gil Evans.
