The cohesive team of James Westfall/vib-mar, Dan Loomis/b and Jared Schonig/dr display their skills at working as a symbiotic team as well as working impressively with guests on their latest release. With guitarist Nir Felder, they create some gentle and plaintive sounds and grooves on “RT3”, get bluesy on “Gibbs Street and spacey on “Apparition.” Nicholas Payton’s warm and luminous horn is sweet on “No Justice” and snaps to the band’s New Orleans’ groove on “Belle Femme de Voodoo.” Fabian Almazan’s piano swings assertively with Westfall’s vibes on “Titan Up” and creates some Asian ambience on”Redwood.” Cohesive and creative.
