For his Christmas album, trumpeter/vocalist Rick Braun veers more towards the Santa Claus more than the Bethlehem side of life. He shows his hand on this cheerful collection of material by singing the lyrics with his rich voice on “I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm” and “No Place Like Home For The Holidays,” but keeping it instrumental on the more spiritual “Oh Tannenbaum” and “Silent Night.” No matter, the theme here is festivity, and his doo wopped “White Christmas,” Latinized “Sleigh Ride” or duet with Mindi Abair on “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” will go down like a s piked egg nog.
