For the first time on cd, the last studio album put together by Arthur Lee’s Love is released, and the 1974 swan song is an impressive one. There’s a lot of Memphis soul to this release, with Lee’s vocals sounding highly influenced by Otis Redding on the relaxed “Stop the Music” as well as “Good Old Fashioned Dream.” Some back porch Delta guitar sounds are on “Which Witch is Which” and the band sounds a lot like Chicago meeting with Earth Wind and Fire on the R&Bish “Who Are You?”. Some Shaft-ish soul is on “Be Thankful For What You Got” and a mix of Claptonesque guitar is on “You Said You Would.” The band definitely closed their run with a funky finish.
