Talk about truth in advertising! Anytime you get a B3 in capable hands such as Mike LeDonne’s, and add ingredients like Eric Alexander’s T-Bone flavored tenor, Peter Bernstein’s bopping tenor and Joe Farnsworth’s deep pocketed drums, you’re going to be moaning with joy. With B3 bands, the attitude and song selection is paramount, and LeDonne pulls out a ringer with The Spinners’ soul hit “Love Don’t Love Nobody” which fits like 10 year old Bass Weejuns. Alexander rolls in like a Bay Area fog on “The Boss” and Bernstein glides like a long boarder on “You Are So Beautiful.” Bob Cranshaw adds extra depth with his bass , and Jeremy Pelt blows his trumpet like a bopper on “Let It Go” and the toe tapping title track. As tasty as baby back ribs!
