Wendy Woo plays guitars and sings while leading a band with Jimmy Lange/b3-key, Chris Maestas/dr, Steve Cox/b, Robin Hoch/voc and Mitch DeZwarte/b-eg. The songs are composed by the various team members and give a sort of bluesy rock feel that is reminiscent of pub bands such as Graham Parker and the Rumor. Woo’s voice has a gritty attractiveness as on “In The Middle” and “Tipping Point,” and the rhythm team, particularly with Lange at the B3, gets into smoky moods as on “backbone Road” and “Mile High Blues.” Unpretentious and earthy, made for a low ceilinged juke joint.
