Guitarist Steve Knight draws with a #2 pencil on this trio album with Justin Peterson/b and Linard Stroud/dr. His tone and melodic style is reminiscent of Grant Green, clean and bluesy around Stroud on”Lure” and nimbly interplaying with Peterson on a textured take of The Beatles’ “Something”. A bodhi tree folkish “Kothbiro” is pastel’d and pretty, while the fingers are nimnlr on “Pure Imagination”. He shows his thing for swing on “7 Come 11” and pumps up the energy on a usually mellow “In A Sentimental Mood” Strong strings.
