THREE HOT SINGLES…Ari Joshua: Blurry Face. Reversible Submersible

Guitarist and songwriter Ari Joshua is delivering a trio of singles, all with different flavors that promise to create a buffet of upcoming albums. Dig in!

The first one, “Blurry Face”, is with famed groovmeisters John Medeski/key and Billy Martin/dr, which is a funkified piece that gets you jumping into your boogaloo boots and wondering why Sly of the Family Stone isn’t singing along. The guitar picking is sweet and the Headhunter feel gets the feet shuffling. Tasty and sweet.

“Reversible Submersible” has the same band, but adds bassist Jason Fraticelli to slap around the bluesy and upbeat feel. The jam is filled with flavor and spreads like dark dingleberries. Joshua’s guitar is a bit more rocking here, going into Derek and Domino territory and gliding around Medeski and Martin like a snowboarder in the spring. Joshua rides the moguls.

The last, “Say What You Wanna Say” has Joshua singing as well as hitting electric and acoustic string with drummer Ben Atkind and keyboardist Kris Yunker. Joshua has a blue eyed soul and sounds like he just got out of backing up the Soul Train band with some swampy R&B backbeat as his fluid guitar glides around Yunker’s humming organ like someone shook a bottle of Pelligrino and just barely opened the top. A cool spritz of swing.

Ari is launching a beta version of his website and offering a free download of not only the sheet music but a link to the backing jam track. Enjoy, and spread the jam around!
