Paolo Fresu plays trumpet and flugelhorn, Richard Galliano takes on the melowtone and accordion and trios up with pianist Jan Lundgren on this collection of gentle pastels of sound. The melowtone sounds a bit like a melodic, toylike and innocent in ideas, mourning with Lundgren on “”Hope” and stately around Fresu during “Hidden Truth”. Fresu’s horn is gentle on the hazy “Belle-lie-en-Mer” and soft for “ Lullabye”, while open and suave on the samba’d “Collette”. Calm waters.
