Singing and playing flute, Elaine Dame takes some Baby Boomer hits and cleverly arranges them with saxist Chris Madsen for modern ears. The team of Tom Vaitsas/p-key, Sam Peters/b, Jon Deitemyer/dr, Neal Alger/g, Art Davis-Victor Garcia/tp and Alyssa Allgood-Christy Bennett/voc deliver a jazz feel to disco hits like “Tell Me Something Good” and go lithe and sleek on “Last Dance”. Dame is in a Latin mood for a clever take of “Use Me” , and her flute works well on ”Reminisicing”. She even Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” and with Vaistas gets into a late night melancholy mood while “Midnight at the Oasis” is pretty and coy. Modern nostalgia.
