Playing solo piano, Claire Ritter delivers sixteen concise (mostly) originals that make you feel like you’re taking in a cozy parlor recital. His style has hints of Satie on the creative “The Cloud & The Moonbeam” and lots of impressionisms in the Debussy realm, such as on “Color The Dream” and “In A Sky Full of Rainbows”. His stride is warm on standards like “When You Wish Upon A Star” and gives some calm bop on Benny Harris’ “Crazeology”. Subtle sonatas.
