Rondi Charleston mixes her po etic lyrics with pianist Fred Hersch’s pen and piano on this gorgeously impressionistic release of jazz and chamber sounds. The lovely voices of Kate McGarry and Gabrielle Stravelli take turns with the lyrics, with Charleston adding some spoken ideas to the intimate “Fever Dreams” with Hersch.
The Crosby String Quartet adds a few cameo appearances as well, most notably with clarinetist Bruce Williamson on the lovely and rich “Suspended In Time” and delicate “Sea Of Seas” with McGarry and Stravelli respectively. “Lullaby” is a tender interplay with Hersch and McGarry” with grace abounding with St ravelli in with Hersch Matt Aronoff/b and Kush Abadie/dr on “Here We Are” .
