Arild Andersen Group: Landloper

Norwegian bassist Arild Andersen plays bass and electronics on this ambient collection of tones and reflections. There are aural soundscapes with the two melding on Albert Ayler’s “Ghosts” with some bowed bass and effects, while the fingers stroll on a path during “Dreamhorse”. Spacious silence and tones are felt on Ornette Coleman’s “Lonely Woman” with the most melodic tune being an intimate and tender take of “A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square”. Where’s Brian Eno?
