Orchestre Incandescent: Rare Birds

Composer Sylvaine Helary sings and plays flute as she leads a small orchestra through some thrilling charts. The team of Antonin Rayon/key, Elodie Pasquier/cl-bcl, Christiane Bopp/tb-sckbt, Maelle Desbrosses/vi, Lynn Cassiers/voc-el, Chloe Lucas/vi, Guillaume Magne/g, Jim Hart/dr and Alexis Persigan/tb blend instruments and voices in rich textures, mixing electronics and humanit on a funky “We Do Not Play On Graves” while getting a bit abstract and loosey goosey with Bopp on “Tenebres”. There’s a lovely folk pastoral feel  to “The Largest Fire Ever Known” with a mix of gentleness and chaos juxtaposed on “There Is A Solitude of Space”. Most of the pieces have multiple movements, or gradual buildups, crescendos and wanings, like a wave crashing and returning to the sea. White cap music.
