Cellist Nesrine creates bohemian mixes of France and North Africa on this richly earth toned released. She mixes and matches with a wide variety of talents, including Vincent Huma/g, Gregoire Musso/b-key, Anissa Nehari/perc, Rhani Krija/perc and Paco Soler/tb for some windswept Saharan breezes. Her cellos is lyrical on her solo “Prelude” while her singing over the synth pulses get a bit poppish on “Ya Line”. A deep Middle Eastern feel glides along the big bass line of “Dunia” with mystical North African flavors melding with Left Bank artsy-ness create rich ideas on the reflective “Flou” and earthy “Fear” with full crescent moons glowing on “Leila”.
