Warm toned guitarist Jim Witzel leads a quartet of Phil Aaron/p, Dan Feiszli/b and Jason Lewis/dr through a mix of mostly originals. A duet read with Aaron on Paul Simon’s “Old Friends” actually begs for more of the same, as the interplay is inspiring. Nothing is lost in the foursome, though, as the team glides on a lyrical “Hello My Friend” and gracefully sway through “Firefly Waltz”. Lewis lays down a thick groove for “Abjohn” and lays the groundwork for a deep dig on ”The Little Dragon”. Impresive interplay
