Sounds from multiple continents are put together, as folk instruments are plucked, strummed, blown into and tapped for vocalist Jessika Kenney by Ned Rothenberg/bcl-shakuhachi, Jeff Roberts: electronics-etc, Woonjung Sim/ Korean perc and Gamin/piri. The results is some dark almost monkish tones on “The Naked: Call” with whispers in the ear with hovering tones on “The Naked” Question”. Haunting moods akin to Miss Habersham’s unattended wedding create ominous webs for “The Naked: Night” with Asian strings forming a gentle meditative garden on ”Shui Jiezou (Water Rhythms)”. The mix of voices and instruments make for a wide palate of flavors and tastes. Tender tribal tones.
