Pianist and composer Florian Weber creates a suite of sorts for the unorthodox collection of four euphoniums and four trombones (including one bass trombone) to augment his equally unorthodox trio with Anna-Lena Schnabel’s flute and Michel Godard’s tuba. Weber’s piano is impressionistic and elegant throughout the 6 piece opus, divided into 16 pieces, with Schnabel’s flute gracefully whisping through “Word I-IV” with the brass hinting ideas of framework around “Sacrifice I-IV” and “Blessing I-IV”. Ephemeral colors.
