Pianist Fern Lindzon forms a reflective trio with George Koller/b and Colleen All en-fl-ts-ss on a rich collection of impressionistic ideas. Lindzon floats with Allen’s soprano sax on “Wondering” and the two are gentle for “Eucalyptus”. Allen’s flute is cheerful on “Canarios” and has a classy sonata feel with the leader on Faure’s “ Apres Un Reve”, while some Mozartian ideas bounce on “A Flower For Amadeus”. Koller gets some space on the exotic “Zeynebim” and broods on “Themes” with the team digging in with Allen’s tenor on “Compassio Blues” and getting playful on “Satin Doll”. Water colors of jazz.
