The Story of Syd Barrett and  Pink Flyod: Have You Got It Yet?

Perhaps you’ve heard about founding Pink Floyd member Syd Barrett from the classic song “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”,  which was a tribute to the tormented genius. This two Blu-Ray collection from Mercury Studios documents the sad and tormented life of Barrett, through interviews with not only members of the band, but childhood friends, fellow musicians and even a few ex-girlfriends. Trying to separate truth from myth, this documentary gives a social setting for a life of Barrett that can simply be summed up in three words, “DON’T TAKE DRUGS”.

There are a handful of bonus features as well, with Pink Floyders David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason getting together in2007 for a delivery of the early  Pink Floyd hit “Arnold Layne” and Gilmore teaming with David Bowie for a 2006 rendition in London. The music and mood is definitely a reflection of the mid to late 1960s, making you wonder how a society that defeated Hitler and saved Western Civilization could suddenly devolve so quickly in one generation. A fascinating look at how God has no grandchildren
