The Rare Sounds: Introducing

The quartet of Eddie Roberts/g, Robert Walter/org, Chris Stillwill/b and Zak Najor/dr focus on songs that sound like a soundtrack for Shaft or something starring Pam Grier. There’s  a funky boogaloo a law the Famous Flames on jumpers like “Half A Mind” and the blue “Those Things You Do”, while the band turns up the jive juice on “Yeah, You!” and the cowbell call of “ One Hand”. Stillwell leads you through a dark alley on “Through Being Cool” and Roberts gives some tasty guitar treats on “Headwaters Of The River Jordan” with the team simmering on the laid back “Lost Backpack”. Who’s got the Afro Sheen?
