Pianist Carsten Dahl teams up with Daniel Franck/b and Jakob Hoyer/dr for a collection of recoding from January 2023 and March 2024 in this Baker’s Dozen of originals. There is a difference of feel between the two sessions, as Dahl has a tad more introspective touch on the earlier year, soft around the brushes on “Interpretations” and ethereal for “ Morgonsang” while getting spacious on “Kristallkorall”. There’s a bit more assertion for the 2024 recordings, with Dahl getting ectomorphic on “Birds”, elliptical on “The Art Of Thinking” and bopping with some kinetic touches on a playful “Monk’ish Dancesteps”. Extroverted introspections.
