Mark Guiliana: MARK

Playing everything from drums to piano, keys, a myriad of electronics and even throwing in some voice, Mark Guiliana puts together a personal “solo” album that feels like stream of consciousness in music form. Some pieces like “Kamakura” sound like a 1980s Nintendo game, while a tinny piano and possible toy piano join forces on “Costello”. Synth patterns are a major form of foundation here, on the drummed out “Just Listen” and static Caribbean computer of “Introspection Station”. And just what is thumping around on the recording of “Hero Soup”? Are there any transcriptions of this?
