Playing everything from drums to piano, keys, a myriad of electronics and even throwing in some voice, Mark Guiliana puts together a personal “solo” album that feels like stream of consciousness in music form. Some pieces like “Kamakura” sound like a 1980s Nintendo game, while a tinny piano and possible toy piano join forces on “Costello”. Synth patterns are a major form of foundation here, on the drummed out “Just Listen” and static Caribbean computer of “Introspection Station”.
