Bassist Jake Leckie teams up with Nadav Peled/g, Beth Goodfellow/dr, Cathlene Pineda/p, Randal Fisher/ts and Darius Christian/tb for a collection of originals that have a Charles Mingus feel. The loose but cohesive horns sway through the bluesy bop of “Big Sur Jade” and trudge along “The Daughters of The Moon”. Peled has a Larry Coryell feel to his guitar on the rapid dig of “Clear Skies” and “String Song” and Fisher gives a bel canto intro to the confident “The Aquatic Uncle”. Mingus moods.
