LA legendary guitarist Bruce Lofgren brings together a pastorally swinging team of Hope Easton/cel, Billy Hulting/perc, Randy Landas/b, Geoff Nudell/cl and Craig Fundiga/vib for some swinging chamber sounds. The moods range from a bluesy stop start on Steve Wonder’s “Creepin’” to lovely Old World sounds delivered by Nudell on Van Dyke Parks’ “Orange Crate Art” Funiga and Nudell give a soulful stroll on “Spend The Night” and are funky on “Trypsy”. Landas gets some nice space on the poppish “Fields of Praise” and is thoughtful on the dark toned “String Theory”. Impressive impressions.
