Drummer Fabio Rojas comes out bold and strong on the extroverted album with Greg OSby/as, Gustavo D’amico/ts-ss-fl, Kevin Harris/p-key and Osmar Okuma/b. The macho horns of Osby and D’amico ride the bold biceps of Rojas’s stick work on the thunderous “Ni Un Paso Atras” (featuring an avalanche of a drum solo) and the intricately hard hitting “Atlas”. D’amico’s soprano gets bluesy on “Dandelion” wile his flute is gentle and fragrant alongside Osby over Rojas’ deft brush work n “Homage AP” with the band building up energy like a tidal wave as the leader leads the gallop with Okuma on “Loneliness”. Osby is in great form throughout, declaratory on “NU” and riding the busy drum work underneath like a long boarder. Hold on tight!
