OK-it’s not as bad as when he sang “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”, nor as out there when he did his paean to whales and dolphins. What this is is Star Trek famed William Shatner backed by the multi-instrumentation of Daniel Miller in presenting a kind of Edward Grieg story of taking care of all God’s creation.
The music is upbeat, easy on the ears and slightly swinging. Shatner is quite avuncular all throughout the thirteen song story, with the melodies ranging from free from background to easy blues. You don’t have to be a Trekkie to like it, and the idea of taking care of the animals on the earth is, well, logical.
