Playing trumpet and flugelhorn, Win Ponsakorn Ervantisutha goes into vintage hard bop territory with David Hazeltine/p-key, Paolo Benedettii/b, and Jason Brown/dr on this collection of mostly originals. He does a nice read of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” blending with Hazeltine” while his warm tone glows on the easy swinger “Man In The Mirror”. His muted horn is czy on “You’re Getting To Be A Habit With Me” and he goes into a soul mood on “Imagination.. He digs in with the team on the bopping “Pearls” and is warm and bright for the Latin “Hummingbirds At Balata Garden”. Fans of Blue Mitchell and Kenny Dorham are going to have a field day with this guy.
