The team of Chieli Minucci/g, George Jinda/perc, Bela Szakcsi Lakatos/p-key, Lionel Cordew/dr and Gerald Veasley/b and are caught in two concerts from 1990 and 19922 on this recent release. Dedicated to the memory of Jinda and Szakcsi, the album is an upbeat collection of how the band could mix jazz with flamenco ideas. Minucci’s Iberian guitar shines on “Forever” and is upbeat on “Festival” There’s lots of exciting percussion on “Slice of Life-Timeless Mood” and velvety piano for “Chance Encounter”. The grooves are light and fluid for “Sabariah” and sleek during “Looking For Seventh Heaven” with all of the pieces accessible and polished. Silky sounds.
