Danish guitarist Soren Lee creates lyrical modern moments with his team of Jakoc Dinesen/ts, Yasser Pino/b, Victor Jones/dr and Rune Harder Olesen/perc on this collection of originals. Lee has an electric sound hinting at a John Scofield influence, rich and palpable, yet easy and swinging lightly as on “Movin On” while digging in to “Let’s Go” and rocking out on “A Few More Steps”. Dinesen’s tenor is a perfect complement, again bringing in memories of Joe Lovano’s days with Scofield, getting soulful on “Funky Motion” and “Living Now “ and blending with the more acoustic strings and Jones’ brushes on the sublime and folksy “Song For My Son”.
