Vocalist Rosemary Loar mixes her own tunes with a wide range of standards as she creates rich and varied moods with Frank Ponzio/p, Tom Hubbard/b, Vito Lesczak/dr, Gary Schreiner/harm and David Longworth/perc. Her own material has “I Don’t Want To Know For Sure” displaying and impressively wide range of effortless tones in a Tom Waitsy fashion, while “Just A Fairy Tell” is a clever and nimble bopper. She goes chanson with Ponzio on Sting’s “La Belle Dame Sans Regret”, bold on her own “Your Turn To Be Brave” and lilts graceful on “Midnight Sun”. Loa oozes passion around Hubbard’s bowed bass on the yearning “Coracao Vagabundo” and is as bright as a horn on “You Taught My Heart to Sing”. A vagabond heart with a beat.
