Electric guitarist forms a post bop quartet with Matt Woroshyl/ts, Perrin Grace/b and Joe Peri/dr for a collection of sophisticated originals. A number of the pieces, such as “A Room With No Doors” and “The Attempt” feature intricate melodies and excursions, while the team swings well with Worshyl’s thick tenor on “A Dream Fades Slowly” and the hip “The Last Time”. Hertzog bops well on “Arrival” and his thick tone is reflective on “Longing to Meet You”, with a gorgeous solo outing on “Interlude” . Digging with dexterity.
