Eunmi Ko + CAMP: 1 View On Life

Pianist Eunmi Ko and the Contemporary Art Music Project (CAMP) join forces for a two disc collection of instrumentals of various proportions mixed with vocals and poetic contemplations. Impressionistic and intuitive piano and keyboards by Eunmi-Ko draw you in in “Basil Eyes” while the added voice make for an almost operatic “I Am Going Mad(libs) and “ Positiveincreases”. Fluid voices from Jamie Jordan meld with tenor saxist Katherine Weintraub and Eunmi-ko on the liquid “Ko-Pu_Ri” with percussion ranging from things sounding like soda bottles, vibes, buzzing objects and background noise supplied by the trio of Weintraub, Kampen and Eunmi-Ko get frisky on “Untitled VI”. Percussionist Robert McCormick leads a stop and start trio on ”At The End Of” and Weintraub’s tenor gets fuzzy and furry on the agonizing shrill of “Young-Seon”. Conversations with notes.
