Latinized and luscious reads of Cole Porter tunes are delivered and arranged by pianist Antonio Adolfo and his team of Lula Galvao/g, Jorge Helder/b, Rafael Barata/dr, Dada Costa/perc, Jesse Sadoc/tp, Danilo Sinna/as, Marcelo Martins/fwwinds and Rafael Rocha/tb, The feel of the album is upbeat and breezy, with simmering percussion on “Easy To Love” and sizzling on “Just One Of Those Things”. Sadoc glows with Helder on “I L ove You” and Martins is bold for “Night and Day”, with Galvao swaying to the samba on “I Concentrate On You”. The horns section is reminiscent of the vintage Claus Ogerman ideas back in the 1970s, as on the classy “Every Time We Say Goodbye” and “So I Love”. Adolfo does something to me.
