Shawn Kellerman sings like something out of J. Geils Band while also playing bass and bluesy guitar on a rocking album with a wide range of guests. Bobby Rush brings his howling harp and and R&Bish “We Are Blues Men” while Jason Ricci’s Hoener howls on a crunch “Hard Man” and grinding “You’re Gonna Learn From This One”. Zoom adds rich voice to the throat grabbing “Mac & Cheese” with Noah Allard featured on a rollicking “Down By The River”. Kellerman is no slouch himself, rocking in 1970s fashion on the boogieing “SKB” and getting funky on the Tower of Powerish “Show Me What You Got”. The “R” is put back into “R&B” on this one.
