Sergio Pereira creates a rich Brazilian atmosphere that salutes the classic bossa nova sounds of Antonio Jobim on this album of originals and covers. He plays guitar, violao, percussion and sings a bit with his team of Chipi Chacon/tp-fh, Luis Guerra/p-key, Ariel Ramirez/b and Mauriciao Zottarelli/dr. He brings in some guests including Romero Lubambo for a lovely “Saudades” and gorgeously harmonic “One For Pat” with the leader in excellent voice. Chacon’s horn is soft and fluffy throughout, creating a rich haze on the cirrus “Bossa” and sweet “Desamor”, with the team digging in deep for a pulsating “There Will Never Be Another You”. New nova!
