Pianist Michael Arbenz uses well known classical pieces as starting points for his own original material on this solo album. There is a graceful extension to his read of “Claire de Lune” during his “Brilliant Moon”, with a graceful stroll for “Where It Spirngs Into Being” for Bach’s “Prelude in C Major”. His stride hints of Bill Evans on Riding For A Fall” and displays elastic harmonies on Brahms’ “Lullaby” while the fingers dance on “The Roadside Tavern”. Redrawn etchings.
