Trumpeter and flugelhornist Christian Pruvost teams up with the voice and horn of Natsuki, pianist Satoko Fujii and drummer Peter Orins for a three song, 65 minute concert of intuitive originals. The 36 minute “Thirteen Years” opens with an almost subliminal pulse before piano strings quietly enter and horns drums and piano veer in and out in improvisational fashion. Voices akin to someone waking up out of bed and piano spaces fill up the 17 minute “We Waited” with the comparatively concise “Evolving” includes meanderings and suckings on mouthpieces and something that sounds like someone twisting screws”.
