South African born bassist Yosef Gutman Levitt creates a pastoral album of originals with the fragrant team of cellist Yoed Nir, pianist Omri Mor and guitarist Tal Tahalom. The tunes have a chamber feel to them, with soft pizzicato’d plucking on “My Soul Thirsts” and the strings festively dancing during “David’s Harp”. There are supporting long tones around Levitt on the tender “B’Net Heichala” and dramatically dark piano for “The Shepherd”. A dash of American folk is felt on the harmonies of “Morning Star” with flowing fragrances throughout, as on the pretty “Awakening”. Alluring pastel ‘d sounds that float through various continents.
