Sounds akin to Weather Report and Headhunters are delivered by electric bassist Kinga Glyk and her team of Casey Benjamin/earophone, Robert Searight, and a four keyboard team, count ‘em, of Brett Williams, Julian Polack, Nicholas Semrad and Snarky Puppy’s Michael League (who also throws in guitar, sitar and other doo dads). She goes solo with voice and bass on an African mooded “Funny Bunny”, but besides that, there’s some fingerpopping funk on the soulful “Unfollower”, wah wah’d “How Cares” and foot stomping “That Right There”. Glyk lays down a deep groove on ” Island” and creates some spacey moods on the intergalactic “Not Real” and noir alley’d “ Unseen Bruises”. She gives a rich intro to the futuristic “The Friend You Call” and jams like something from vintage Joe Zawinul on “Opinions”. Plugged in and fun!
