The front line of Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia sing and play rocking guitar teamed up in a pair of gigs in Canada with Doug Byrkit/b, Lewis Stephens/p-org ad Matt Johnson-Ephraim Lowell/dr. The pair growl on “You’re Gonna Burn” and sound like ZZ Top as the roll through “Tooth and Nail”. The gents boogie through “No Good Woman” and double time it on “Bag Me, Tag Me, Take Me Away”. Zito gets earthy on “In My Soul and Castiglia takes no prisoners for “A Thousand Heartaches”, head banging till the end on “Rockin’ In The Free World”. Blues rocking tonight.
Randy Lee Riviere sings and plays guitar with Kevin McKendree/g-key-voc, Kenneth Blevins/dr, David Santos/b and Ann, Regina & Freda McCrary/voc on a collection of originals taken from the pages of 70s rockers like Foghat and Lynyrd Skynrd. There’s a mix of rock and hip hop during “American Redoubt”, and a dash of Good Ol’ boys for “ Old Country’s Son” but for the most part you get a bluesy sweat on “Needles” and some heavy trudging during “You’re So Kind”. The riffs and solos sound like a night on the town walking through the bars on Broadway in Nashville. Strats are struttin’.
