Drummer Mareike Wiening brings together a team of Rich Perry/ts, Glenn Zaleski/p, Alex Goodman/g, Johannes Felscher/b and guest Dave Douglas/tp for a collection of varied originals. Douglas joins in the mellow tones with Perry following Felscher’s lead on “Encore”, and is muted on the melancholic “Choral Anthem” with an ethereal Perry”. Zaleski and Goodman get nimble with the leader on an intermittent and intricate dance of “Declaration of Truth” and the drums are upbeat with Perry leading the charge on “Reveal”. There are some edgy effects or sonic additions to the edgy “Time For Priorities’” with the team swinging the easiest on the classy “The Girl In The Window”.
