Vocalist Ed Motta feels like a throwback to the Old School style of soul singing on this recent album. His tone and delivery are reminiscent of Michael McDonald, warm and rhythmic, and able to mix with strings and bluesy keyboards as on “Newsroom Costumes”. With sax section and guitarists Ed Mota and Michel Limma, he croons through “Safely Far” and is upbeat for “Slumberland”, while waltzing on the eeeire mood during “Of Good strain”. Sergio Mello s provide a big drum backbeat to the riffing “Gaslingting Nancy and b assist Albert Continentinao” gets funky for “ Shot In The Park”. Motto himself is folksy when surrounded by guitar and dobro for “ Buddy LIghtway”. Rich feelings.
