Vibraphonist Yuhan Su brings together Matt Mitchell/p, Caroline Davis/as-voc, Marty Kenney/b and Dan Weiss for a collection of originals. There’s even a poem included, recited by Davis during “She Goes To A Silent War.” There’s a deep hint of Monk on some tunes, like the fun “Siren Days” and even the funky “Hassan’s Fashion Magazine” with Kenney getting down on the electric bass. Davis broods on the agonizing “Didion” and Su is upbeat with Mitchell on “Hi-Tech Pros and Cons” and dark on the cloudy “Character” . Pictures in a gallery.
