Composer and tenor saxist Quinsin Nachoff leads a trio of Mark Helias/b and Dan Weiss/dr along with two, count ‘em, two, string quartets on three long opuses. “Stars and Constellations: Scorpio” consists of the Bergamot Quartet bowing, scratching and picking in dissonance. The Rhythm Method brings in an extra four strings for some wide glissandos that eventually lead into some bopping moods by the jazz team, while Pendulum has Nachoff searing and going askance in his search around edgy bows. Follow the bouncing ball.
