Pianist Nitai Hershkovits goes solo for 18 concise etudes on this recent release. The album feels like an intimate recital of originals, with a feeling of Debussy teamed with Satie in soft lillie pads of reflection. There are moments of jauntiness as on “Intermezzo No. 3” but for the most part, gentility is on the forefront with soft ripples on “The Old Wise”, moody crystals of dots o “Placid in Africansque” and soulful stirrings on “This You Mean To Me”. Snowflakes are dancing on “In Satin” and the is moonlight on “ Of Trust and Remorse”. The piano strolling in Givenchy.
